POSITION: 6433 - Human Resources Generalist I/II (Full Time Regular)

LOCATION:  Corporate Office - Gardena, CA

DUTIES: Role and Responsibilities: • Assist with ensuring HR is operating consistently with HR, Ethics and Compliance standards. • Stay apprised of employment related legislative and regulatory actions for company implications and recommend required changes. • Support HR and regulatory / compliance reporting requirements and efforts, preparing ongoing and ad hoc HR and compliance reports. • Act as the safety coordinator/representative for safety and compliance programs. Lead required drills for the corporate office staff, assessing processes and improving as needed. • Handles the Workers Compensation program. Reports and tracks all cases, as well as follow up with workers compensation carriers. • Coordinates onboarding process for intern/volunteers • Manages recruitments and all job-posting sites. • Assists in creating monthly tickler reports • Handles the separation process for all terminations. • Coordinate mandatory training program. • Supports all training efforts, including surveys and documentation required for staff’s CEUs. • Co-conduct training, preparing presentations as required. • Communicate clearly and courteously with staff at all BHS facilities as well as with vendors. • Maintains familiarity with BHS policies and procedures and other applicable regulations. • Attends meetings and participates in committees as assigned. • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: QUALIFICATIONS: Following are the qualifications required to perform the essential functions of this position. Qualifications may be subject to modification based on the Americans with Disabilities Act. Bilingual abilities may Be required within certain BHS programs. HR Generalist I - Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • AA degree in related field. • Two or more years working in Human Resources; knowledge of HR practices. • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deal with all levels of employees including senior leadership, as well as outside vendors. • Strong attention to detail, critical and proactive thinking. • Ability to demonstrate/convey respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of all BHS staff and clients. • Ability to work as a team member in performing job duties and assignments. • Valid California Driver’s License, with good driving record. HR Generalist II – Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • AA degree in related field highly preferred. • Four or more years of experience working in Human Resources; knowledge of HR practices. • PHR, SPHR, HRCI certification or SHRM certification is a plus • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deal with all levels of employees including senior leadership, as well as outside vendors. • Strong attention to detail, critical and proactive thinking. • Ability to demonstrate/convey respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of all BHS staff and clients. • Ability to work as a team member in performing job duties and assignments. • Valid California Driver’s License, with good driving record. Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Bachelor’s Degree in related field. • Experience in support of organizational training. • PHR, SPHR, HRCI certification is a plus. Physical Demands: • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, squat, reach, stand, sit, talk, hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach. • Ability to travel locally. • Vision, hearing, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination must be adequate for performance of job duties.
