I have always been extremely proud to be a part of an agency that works so hard to help others change their lives. I am humbled and honored to be appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of such a fine organization. We are currently in our 42nd year, and although I expect there will be challenges along the way, we have many exciting projects and opportunities ahead of us. We have lots of stories to tell about our excellent programs and unique projects, staff and clients; this website will highlight some of those events and stories and give you a glimpse of this year’s exciting vision.
In the coming months, BHS looks forward to the opening of the Behavioral Health Services Family Health Center, located at 2501 W. El Segundo Blvd in Hawthorne, next to Pacifica House. The clinic is about halfway complete. It’s very exciting and a completely new strategic direction for us. The addition of the Health Center will allow us to provide integrated primary health and behavioral health services to our clients, their families and the community.
Our plans to open an outpatient treatment center in Long Beach are also well underway. Rounding out the continuum of care in the area, our new Long Beach Family Recovery Center, located at 514 Pacific Coast Highway, is scheduled to open early summer 2015. We are also continuing renovations of the new site for our Boyle Heights outpatient program, and we are looking forward to our sixth accreditation visit from CARF in the Spring.
Overall, I believe you will see the real foundation and strength behind Behavioral Health Services, Inc…. it is the people that we serve. I am so proud to share our journey together, and I look forward to another successful chapter in the “Tradition of Caring.”
