POSITION: Mental Health Clinician I (Full Time Regular)

LOCATION: Lincoln Heights - Los Angeles, CA

DUTIES: Under general supervision, the Mental Health Clinician has responsibility for a psychiatric caseload of young adults who have been dually diagnosed as suffering from co-occurring problems of substance abuse and mental illness.

QUALIFICATIONS: Following are the qualifications required to perform the essential functions of this position.  Qualifications may be subject to modification based on the Americans Disability Act.  Preferred qualification: Bi-lingual, Spanish/English.

Must possess a valid intern registration number from the State Board of Behavioral Examiners and be able to obtain an appropriate license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage, family and Child Counselor, or Clinical Psychologist in the State of California within four years following registration as an intern.

Able to stand, stoop, bend, squat and reach for purpose of performing job duties such as handling materials stocked on shelves, filing, lifting and assisting in emergency situations.  Routinely lift and move times weighting up to ten pounds and occasionally up to twenty-five pounds; is expected to ask for assistance and use a dolly or cart for any heavy items.  Vision, hearing, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination must be adequate for performance of job duties.  Able to sit at desk, use keyboard, write and physically perform other job duties.  Duties may require occasional use of stool or small ladder. Able to move about the facility to observe clients and staff.  Specific qualifications may vary based on assignment.

Recovering individuals must have a minimum two years clean, sober and abstinent to be considered for employment.
