POSITION: Compliance Assistant (Full Time Regular)

LOCATION: BHS Admin. - Gardena, CA.

DUTIES: Under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer, the Compliance Assistant performs various tasks such as collect and organize date from various departments and personnel for the timely completion and submission of licensing and certification applications with state and local agencies. Perform routine and assigned audits, monitoring reviews and data collection using approved audit and monitoring instruments. Prepare reports of audit/monitoring findings.

QUALIFICATIONS: Following are the qualifications required to perform the essential functions of this position.  Qualifications may be subject to modification based on the Americans with Disabilities Act.

A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a health care environment, preferably behavioral health.  Bachelor’s degree in health or human/social service or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic knowledge of health care and social service systems; knowledge of behavioral health documentation helpful. Ability to learn computer software programs (e.g. electronic health record systems) in order to perform job duties, within three months of hire.

Experience and proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.  Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Strong display of agency values:  Compassion, Dedication, Integrity and Diversity.

Must have valid California driver’s license and liability insurance if driving personal vehicle on BHS business. Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat and reach for purpose of performing duties such as handling materials stocked on shelves, filing and handling and sorting mail.  Routinely lift and move items weighing up to ten pounds; is expected to ask for assistance and use dolly or cart and any heavy items. Vision, hearing, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination adequate to answer telephones, use keyboard, write messages.  Able to move about the facility and in other off-site locations.

Recovering individuals must have a minimum two years clean, sober and abstinent to be considered for employment.
