POSITION: In Home Outreach Counselor (Full Time Regular)
LOCATION: NCADD of the South Bay (Torrance, CA)
DUTIES: The In-Home Outreach Counselor is responsible for protecting children who are at risk for abuse, neglect and/or exploitation. Educate parents or caretakers to improve their competence and ability to provide a safe, caring and secure home for the children. May also perform duties including Teaching and Demonstrating (T&D), Substitute Adult Role Model and Transportation (SARM).
QUALIFICATIONS: Following are the qualifications required to perform the essential functions of this position. Qualifications may be subject to modification based on the Americans Disability Act.
Master’s Degree in related field or Bachelor Degree required in related field with department waiver. High school diploma or equivalency. Related supervised work experience will be considered in lieu of education.
Must have valid California driver’s license and liability insurance if driving personal vehicle on BHS business. Must have good driving record.
Vision, hearing, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination must be adequate for performance of job duties. Able to sit at desk, use keyboard, write and physically perform other job duties. Able to move about the facility to observe clients and staff.
Recovering individuals must have a minimum two years clean, sober and abstinent to be considered for employment.
