POSITION:  Admissions Specialist I or II (Full Time Regular)

LOCATION: RMRC - Long Beach, CA.

DUTIES: The Admissions/Assessment Specialist II initiates and completes the admissions and/or assessment process.  Communicates in a professional manner, obtains accurate information, and makes appropriate placements in BHS facilities and/or appropriate referrals into our treatment programs.

QUALIFICATIONS: Following are the qualifications required to perform the essential functions of this position.  Qualifications may be subject to modification based in the Americans with Disabilities Act. Bilingual abilities may be required within certain BHS programs.

Admissions Specialist I: High school diploma or equivalency. Recognized certification, or progress towards certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor; related supervised work experience will be considered in lieu of education. Must have valid California driver’s license and liability insurance if driving personal vehicle on BHS business.

Admissions Specialist II: Two years supervised experience working in substance and/or related field.  Completion or current enrollment in a drug and alcohol studies program. Registration in a state-recognized chemical dependency counselor certification is required.  Must have valid California driver’s license and liability insurance if driving personal vehicle on BHS business.

Vision, hearing, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination must be adequate for performance of job duties.  Able to sit at desk, use keyboard, write and physically perform other job duties.  Able to move about the facility to observe clients and staff. Specific qualifications may vary based on assignment. 

Recovering individuals must have a minimum two years clean, sober and abstinent to be considered for employment.
